Cute! The cat is such a nice touch. It really adds to the quilt. It softens it, because otherwise it is very straight and geometric.

Yes, give it a try. My first "experiments" ended up as pincushions. You can't lose anything but a little time. I'm going to post a picture of a duck decoy that I did with crayons....
