Default grass border

On another thread, I suggested that a good inner border for a spring quilt might be a lawn, that is, grassblades. I had thought a simple paper piecing would be best. When I went to design it, I decided on another method altogether.
I think it would be better to cut narrow strips of grass colored fabric that had been ironed to a fusable backing, the kind with pull off paper. Pull off that paper and fuse the grass pieces to the background. Rather than do normal raw edge applique, it would be much faster and easier to sew a piece of fine netting over the whole border (before adding the border to the quilt). The quilting process would then be sufficient to attach the grass firmly. Another idea would be a standard picket fence.

If this is clear as mud, please let me know.

Thanks for the picture of the grass borders. I've printed a copy. Don't know how I'll finish it. Maybe just use steam a seam 2 and then do cross hatch quilting over it.
Thanks again

I didn't much care for #1, which is why I did #2. If one of you actually makes it, please post it so I can see how it actually turns out.
