Default Chinook Winds, a pinwheel quilt

Last year about this time I made a six sample pinwheel blocks to try out the Missouri Quilt method using 2 squares, stitched around the edges and then cut diagonally to make 1/2 square triangles. I liked the method and made a pinwheels and patches quilt. I tossed the six samples into my "orphanage" box. I came across them last month and decided to do something with them. This is what I came up with. When we lived in the Denver area we always had Chinook Winds this time of year, high winds with warmer temperatures. We don't get those in the Grand Junction area so much, but this quilt made me think of them again.

Love them! The colors are great! And yes, those Chinook winds aren't very fun to get caught in.

Beautiful use of pinwheels. Sure wish I could quilt like you, its awesome. I too have used this method for making pinwheels and it's so easy...love it. Most all of their tutorials are great. I have learned so much from being a member of this board and I thank each and every one of you...you all inspire me to keep on quilting....

What a great use of your left overs. And so colorful too. Great job.
