Default Christmas larks

I finally made a Christmas quilt after years of wanting to make one. The pictures are pretty poor, and the top does look better "in person." This is another first for me, this being the very first quilt I've ever made without "unsewing" a stitch! Not that it's perfect! Now I have to figure out how to quilt it. I'd like to have it done by Christmas, so that means machine quilting. I haven't practiced for awhile and feel pretty intimidated. I've had such fun putting the top together, but I hope I don't get discouraged with the quilting part of it. The last picture is a Christmas dress I made for a darling granddaughter. (It is if I can get the pictures to load!) What color thread would you use?

Just gorgeous. Congratulations on making a quilt that didn't require ripping (laughter). It is lovely and will decorate your home cheerfully. The dress is simply precious and lovely. What a talent you have there. Thank you for sharing these treasures.

What an absolutely wonderful job you did on both. I recognized your quilt fabrics.....and when I viewed it, I was called to my stash, where both of your block fabrics reside. I too couldn't resist them. Too many projects for this year, but perhaps next year they will come to the top of the stack. Your little granddaughter is going to be the talk of your holiday in this gorgeous dress. Stellar job and kudos to you!

Oh my! I am so impressed with the mitered borders! They look perfect! The whole quilt is beautiful. And the dress is divine! My GD would love it so.

It is a beautiful quilt, You could just meander the quilting. It does not need anything fancy, Love the dress can't wait to have grandchildren to sew for.
