I finished this some time ago, but she just got it and is in love with it. Thought I'd share with you. I designed the block using EQ5 and picked out all new fabrics. Nothing from the stash. Even the backing fabric was purchased new. She doesn't like flowers and lacy things, so I kept it to the plainer fabrics with the green pop and the black and gold as a second pop. I loved making this quilt and hope you enjoy it as well. Sorry I don't have a photo of the quilting - that was my daughter's (her mother) department. I'm hoping that Lilli will send me some photos of it on her bed with the quilting.

The bed quilt laid out on my Antique bed

A block showing the green with the black and gold popping!

One block looks like several different blocks whe put together. Can you find the block?

Nice quilt Grandma!!! .. and for a non-lacy-non-flowery girl, you've more than met the challenge, creating a simply elegant quilt that'll be a treasure for her.

This a lovely moasic looking quilt top. It is a challenge to quilt for those who like sutle. My son challenged me to make a quilt top for him for HS grad. that was abstract in nature. I managed it but it was hard. Nowadays there are many choice in abstract prints.:) (meaning non floral)

That's really nice. No wonder she fell in love with it. Good color combo.

Thanks everyone. It was made with a lot of love. I made her a quilt for her graduation, but she didn't like it. It was blue with flowers. It was a sampler quilt that I was designing and selling on Ebay at the time. These were my work blocks. Spent a lot of time on that one. Suzi, her mother, has it now.

What a very beautiful and special gift for your grand-daughter. I'm sure it will be treasured and passed along to your great-grands.
