Default Civil War Small Quilts

I have joined an online community sponsored by the author Kathleen Tracy.. I am having so much fun doing these with all my reproduction scraps. The larger of these is from Kathleen's book titled Prairie Children and Their Quilts while the other two (they are identical so I just stacked then up lol) are just one row shorter but basically the same thing. The group have wonderful handquilters in it but sadly that is not me. So I put them on the longarm and did a loose open feather and added a straight stitch in the borders.

Her books are amazing. While I do not need the directions for the blocks her narratives, color and variation are wonderful and a true inspiration. I now have four of her books

You sure have used your scraps for a wonderful new project. Just adorable. I, too, am a machine quilter though I love hand embroidery, smocking etc. but not quilting LOL

Cute quilts! I'm on her FB page as well, but haven't made any to share recently I like to see color combinations, too. Like you I have to take a pass on HQ. Did you use a pattern for the feathers or FMQ them. My LA skills are not that good for the smaller quilts, yet.

Thanks!! I am not good with feathers free handed - I have an Avante with a tablet so I just let the computer do it

Oh I love your little quilts, your fabric choices, and that avatar quilt! Thanks for giving us the name of the quilt designer for those little quilts. Beautiful!
