I LOVE this purse style. I still have NOT found the large pattern. All I can find is the smaller ones. I cannot believe there are no large patterns anywhere

the beads are wood.. they come in a good size bag with muliple colors in them..
green, blue, burgundy, black, natural. I am going to get more later today.. i get them at joann's in the jewelry making aisles.. I also get the silver ones there.. big bag also of various shapes..they come in gold as well.
when i go , i get silver, gold. and two bags of colors...
Thanks Colleen! I've made a lot of bags but still haven't tried my bowtucks pattern. But I guess it's time to bite the bullet and give her a try!

Do you use the fusible batting on the main fabric and Decor Bond on the lining?
I use the fusible pellon on outside and inside fabric and the pockets.. If my fabric is heavy for outside then I use a lighter weight on the inside lining.

I love the bow tucks, but have not tried them yet. I've got both patterns! Colleen you are inspiring me to get one going! I may have to PM you if I get stuck!

"I use the fusible pellon on outside and inside fabric and the pockets.. If my fabric is heavy for outside then I use a lighter weight on the inside lining."

So not the armo plus fusible pellon, just heavyweight interfacing like decor bond?

I ask because some pictures I've seen look really 'puffy' ... moreso than I would want. I use the armo plus in my bags by Lazy-Girl Designs.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!

just pellon fusible in different weights.
if they were the puffy look it may have been some early ones with I used regular batting and quilted them. I have not used reg. batting in a very long time, .. always fusible pellon

I tried the lighter weight Pellon (iron on) found it didn't give it as much body as I wanted. I normally use the heavy weight, that I get a Wal-Mart that is $3.97 a yard. I started out last one with the light weight, and ended up ironing on another piece of the heavier Pellon because it didn't have the body I wanted. So what I did on that purse was used the light and heavy weight on the outside, and left the light weight on the inside, that is something that you have to try to see if you like it or not.
