Default Colored Jewels Patchwork

First, I have to declare that this is not a quilt - there is no batting.
I wanted light to come through, so I simply backed it with white poplin.

The deep blue fabric is a by-product (ie, unwanted) of my experiments with hand dying techniques. The colored pieces are left raw edged and sewn onto the blue fabric with a triple stitch.

Confession : I used Elma's glue to stick the colored pieces onto the blue fabric. This stiffens the fabric enough for triple stitching. Not sure if I'm going to be summoned by the quilt police for this. Since this is a display piece, it is not going to be washed, I am less particular.

I love it when I hear that someone has tried something new and different. Who says you can't use glue or whatever. You have a beautiful art quilt for your efforts. Where did you hang this? Love the strong light behind it.
