Petra, who is 9, designed her witch outfit
and I made it using an old pair of chiffon
dressy pants. I used a scrap of fabric
from an old costume for the sleeves and
for the green trim. The vest I added using
    fabric scraps from another Halloween
project and an old pair of purple cotton pants.

The Corpse Bride costume is for Sydney, my 5 year old and youngest, grand daughter. She and I had the most fun designing it!! I still can't believe that my OLD (1959) Merry Widow corset actually fit around her! We will have to stuff the boobies, but she looked adorable in it. I painted the ribs and some lace onto it and then used a pair of old sheer curtains and light blue sheet to make the skirt and veil.

Oh my gosh, these costumes are awesome. I wish you had been there to make my costumes (smile). I love the witch (which is what i always want to be - laughter) and the corpse bride is astounding. You are an awesome and talented grandmother and those kids are wonderfully blessed. Thank you for sharing; what fun.

Surprising how small we were in those days. Nice pictures. :)
