thanks, carol w. this little stitch is really addictive. fast and really sets off a simple block. go for it.

nanabirdmo...that is too cute on that quilt!! I am so glad you shared a picture w/us! I haven't ever seen it done before and had never heard of it before the previous posting on it...thanks for sharing! SKeat...who just might have to try this!:)

That is so cute and old fashioned looking. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. I know how I am going to quilt my scrappy quilt I am working on for our bed now. :wink:

Would you still have to pin or baste the quilt if using this technique of handquilting?

carol w, since this is a hand stitch and i use a 14 inch hoop to hold it, i do baste rather than pin. i radiate the basting from the center out. it seems to be the most secure basting method. saw it in an old book at the library. the pins would get in the way of the hoop. i pin when i am machine quilting.
