Quilting question--should I leave it as is or add the other direction?

I've never used a seam guide before--I like it! My original plan was to go both ways--a matrix--but I'm kind of liking it like this. It shows movement (doesn't it?). IF I had planned on going only one direction, I think I would have gone the other way...too late for that.

If this was yours--would you leave it as is or add the other lines of quilting so there are squares on there?

Thanks!

PS--now I see neat circles on there I never saw before. How'd that happen? The quilting?

I like it right now. Do you have a leftover block you could try quilting both directions on to see how it impacts the look? It would be awful to add more quilting lines only to decide you liked it better before.

Quilting can bring out lots of stuff you didn't see before.. It's very nice the way it is.. but I'd do both ways. I'll bet you'll see even more designs coming out.

Oh gosh-it's a tie. I'll have to wait for more replies, or I could ask my sister when she comes over tonight--it's for her.

MamaBear--I have more blocks, but I'm using them in the next top. Although, I checked wall space and I have no room, so I won't be in a hurry to make the next one.

I love how quilting it in one direction gives it movement, but I wonder what it would look like if it was quilted in both directions. If the block isn't hard, would it be worth it to use some scrap fabrics to do one up and then quilt it both ways to see what it looks like?

I like it this way too. Did you use a walking foot to do the quilting? If you go the opposite direction you could get small puckers where the quilting seams meet. It looks great now.

Oh yay--majority of votes say leave it. Oh--the possible pucker predicament--that's a great reason to skip the other way... and the idea I might not like it if I do. Eeek. So--leaving as it, I am, I am. :-D

Thank you one and all for stopping to give me your opinion!

I did use the regular foot--not a fm foot--because there's no where to put the seam guide thingy on the fm one. Once I got the feed dogs back up and the slippery mat off, I was ready to quilt. Oh the goof-ups I do. They'd make a great comedy.

Now to figure out my binding idea...
