I have the Singer Confidence 7470, and I just love it. The needle down definately is a handy option

I've heard some good things about the Singer Confidence quilter sewing machine and have seen Martha Stewart use them on her show. I had a Singer for a number of years after my Sears Kenmore quilt burned out (literally-guess I was really "smoking" that day. As long as you love it, that's all that matters.
