Default Did I goof? I'm quilting it upside down.

This is a scrappy log cabin variation twin sized top that I finished a couple years ago, and I'm finally quilting it. The top didn't particulary inspire me to a particular quilting motif, and the backing which I got on clearance was very pretty. So I decided to try something different and I basted the quilt upside down with the backing on the top. I'm outlining the roses carefully and in a good amount of detail so they will be seen on the front. I'm maybe a third finished, and it's using a good amount of thread. I hope I like it; not sure what the final outcome will be, but did anyone else ever do anything like that? I may be able to say it's reversible now that the back is embellished. I'm including some pictures of the whole quilt, and then some close-ups of the back with the roses where I'm quilting and the front where you should be able to see the roses on the brown material.

I think it's a great idea! I have a book called "Quilting Back to Front" that is all about exactly what you're doing. I've been wanting to try it. I think your quilt will look wonderful!

Awesome idea and fun to do. A quilt that will be enjoyed on front and back.
