I cut 7" squares from my fabrics and the blocks ended up 11 1/2" before adding the border. It is 26 1/2" square finished.

WOW! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. MIND IF I MAKE THE SAME DESIGN? IT WILL BE FOR A TABLE RUNNER FOR A DEAR FRIEND. IT IS LOVELY AND YOUR CHOICE OF FABRICS IS WONDERFUL. SHE PREFERS BLUES AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF CHRISTMAS FABRICS WITH BLUE IN THEM. THANKS FOR SHARING.

It's not my design so of course you can use it! A tip - I made 8 blocks that I used to make two toppers so I could have a large pinwheel in the center as well as the little pinwheels near the corners. Otherwise you get more of an hour glass shape in the center which is fine, I just wanted the pinwheel! Please post yours when you finish. Good Luck!
