This is my 2nd finished quilt top. I am hoping to have it finished by tomorrow night.

I am planning on using blue fabric for the backing and quilting with a light blue (stitch in the ditch). I am not too sure if it'll look good. Maybe I should just quilt with a neutral thread.....suggestions please!

Thanks for looking : o )

That is a lovely quilt...I think the blue will look fine, although on the deep pink it may stand out, what about a random thread, or as you say a neutral, with a blue for the backing???????

Hell what do I know???????? tee hee!!!

hmmmmm ... since the general idea for stitch in the ditch is that the quilting "disappears" into the seams, a neutral color thread is a "safer" choice. (i say this knowing that i always go with a coordinating, but contrasting thread color so i can more easily judge the success of my ditch stitching. the gafarbles are easier to see in case i decide to fix them. but i've always been my own worst enemy. )

love it, by the way. you've pieced a beautiful top!!! :P :P :P

That is so calming. I love your color choices. Color? I betcha light blue will hardly show up--it'll blend in. I think it won't make a different which you use, especially with in the ditch. Thanks for sharing!!

To stitch in the ditch, I always use invisible thread..cause I'm just not THAT good. With it, I can always keep those lines straight and it won't show on the front and will look straight on the back. Then for all my other quilting, I use a color.

You did a great job with your fabric choices, the quilt looks lovely!

Love it, very nice quilt. I have only done stitch in the ditch once, so have no suggestions for you.
