It's beautiful! I agree with many of the others - a border would look lovely but not needed. You could compromise and use a wider binding.

Beautiful and I agree with the dark binding to finish it. If you needed to make it bigger the dark blue would be perfect. Which ever you decide it will be loved because you made it special. Good Luck to your sister on her surgery!

Another vote for leaving as is, unless it needs to be bigger. Very pretty as is.
