Default Double Delight mystery quilt done!

Continued from posts: http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t-t198468.html

and: http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t-t199719.html

I finished the quilt top. I love the pattern but after making this big size quilt with so many small pieces I think I'm going to be making big block quilts for a long time. It was tedious to press all those seams. I will layer it tomorrow and do simple fmq, enough to put binding on. I will do more quilting after the guild challenge display at a local quilt show. I started with a narrow cheddar border around it but took it out. I just didn't like the look of double borders.

Wow. That turned out beautiful. I like it better without the cheddar border, too.

That quilt is gorgeous! I understand about the tedious small blocks but big blocks have drawbacks too. Can't hide quilting mistakes in the big blocks so much, lol.

Normally I would like the inner border, but in this case I think you're right to take it out. The overall effect of the blue border is to make the center seem to float. It's very beautiful.

Your quilt is beautiful. I kinda liked the cheddar border. But, it looks great without it too. It might have been too much after awhile.
