Default Double Slice

This was the only quilt I started and finished in 2020, this is my all time favorite pattern for a masculine quilt. This is going to a young man who is the stepson of someone near and dear to my heart. When he saw the quilt I had made and sent to my dear friend, he commented on how wonderful quilts were because they take so much time and effort to make. I’ve never met him, but I do know he struggles with his own self worth, and his biological family is beyond dysfunctional; I hope this helps him realize that he is very worthy indeed! Colors were suggestion by my friend and I had the perfect selection in my stash.

Double Slice from Missouri Star
73 x 83
First quilt on my Innova (OMG what a beautiful stitch it makes)
Soft and Bright Batting
2 Batik Layer Cakes from my stash
Batik backing from my stash
Scrappy binding from the same line from a open jelly roll.

I had to search high and low for thread in the correct color for this quilt, who knew it would be so difficult to find and get. Thanks for looking!

This quilt is perfect and so masculine any man young or old would like this and treasure it for a lifetime. I am sure this will bring a bit of sunshine to this lad.

I love your quilt and this pattern. It’s a good pattern for guy or gal. I made it in the Cottage Joy by Shannon Christenson for my granddaughter, pinks, greens, blues, and yellow. I am giving it for Christmas. It’s so good to give to someone like your fellow that appreciates it. Merry Christmas-Toogie

I love the quilt and your colors are a perfect combination. I struggle with colors. The young man is going to appreciate and realize every minute he knows was put into that quilt especially for him.

I love your quilt and especially love the story behind it. It is masculine and the fabrics are wonderful. I feel the quilt will be so treasured.
