Default Dr. Suess embroidered art rag quilt

This was my second quilt - I know i have so much to learn, and probably don't really qualify as a quilter - but I would love any ideas for this kind of thing...it is a product of an idea (my husband says ideas are dangerous things! - he is usually right )

Your quilt is just adorable and I love the beautiful colors! You put a lot of work into it and you should really be proud of it.

I don't mean to be mean, but your husband is wrong. You are a quilters' quilter. Your Dr. Seuss is beautiful. Barny

Hi Mary,
I went online and looked up Dr. Suess pictures, used some books as well, I used thermal embroidery topper (plastic that you embroider over to keep the nap down on the fabric so the thread will be under, then you iron and it melts away) to trace what I wanted to embroider. I hooped the fabric, then just started sewing on a straight stich with a embroider foot (I have a Brother embroidery machine-but this is free hand embroidery). It is like coloring with thread.

That's great , especially for a beginner. And yes, you certainly qualify for a quilter.

I absolutely LOVE Dr Seuss - he was such a great man!!! And I love your rag quilt!!! It is absolutely fantastic!!!

Did you know that Green Eggs and Ham was written on a dare that Dr Seuss could not write a book using less than 50 words??? Now all of you w/ kids go have your kids starting counting.....
