Default Navajo

I just finished this quilt top. The pattern is Navajo from a book called Tradition with a Twist by Blance Young and Dalene Young Stone. The patter is in queen sized, but I made the pieces smaller so I could get a twin size quilt.

I will make a second one of these and then put them on two twin beds in our guest room. I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

I know you shouldn't admit your mistakes, but I sure made a big one on this quilt, my biggest quilting mistake in my 10 years of quilting. I was supposed to cut eighty-eight 3 1/4 wof strips, eleven for each of 8 different fabrics. After I sewed them into strip sets, I was supposed to cut those into 1 3/4 inch strips. I reversed those!!! So I had eighty-eight 1 3/4 inch strips instead of eighty-eight 3 1/4 strips!!! That will teach me to slow down a bit!!! I just got in a hurry. I will cut the strips for the second quilt correctly the first time this time. I intend to chant 3 1/4 over and over and over, 88 times, as I am cutting fabric.

But first I will get this top quilted. I am a one-quilt-at-a-time girl. There aren't many of us. (I have no UFO's.)

Thanks for looking.

Dina
