No I didn't use a printed piece. It is fusible raw edge applique. We have a lot of elk here and it was based on a photgraph a friend took.

Love it! The sky you made is marvelous!!! The lilies sorta drew my eye, but I say leave them as it represents your home area, plus it would be dull on the bottom without them.

Oh, my, how gorgeous!! I'm yearning for an elk quilt, but this goes way beyond my abilities and dreams. The sky and mountains are perfectly colored. The pond and Lillies remind me of some of the high country scenes I've ran across while ATVing. Awesome. Now I'm yearning for those summer riding days. Thanks for sharing.

how beautiful that is! ive got water lillies here too so i think it's great. love the way you hid the hooves. those would be so hard to do! fun meeting people from idaho, there are so few. i am up WAY north by coeur d alene and we see these every spring. i used to live in weiser; payette is a cute little town! till the year i had to have a sagebrush from cambridge for my christmas tree; the following year we moved up north!
