    Default new parrots!

these buggars are not sewn down yet. they are black palm cockatoo's. In the wild when mating season is approaching, the male builds the nest usually in the top of a hallowed out tree. He keeps a piece of wood that he uses as a drumstick and bangs it on the tree to attract a mate!

Wow, they are gorgeous. I see loads of pins so am assuming this is not fusible applique. Kudos to you for such complex work with turned under edges. Your wood fabric is fabulous.

it is fused with ultra bond lite. I had used that on the hyacinth one I did recently & although I really don;t like the stiffy feel, the misty fuse was not working for me either. I think because I do soo much manhandling while twisting & turning that I was loosening the misty fuse. I was having a similar problem with the heat & bond lite, but not as bad so I stuck a few pins in just in case as I have 3 other tops to finish off before I can sew these guys down.
    P.S...I do have parrots

Wow! I envy your talent. They are beautiful. Also like the story of their mating ritual.
