The Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt has kind of an interesting story behind it. The lady who made it had done stuffed carousel and rocking horses for years. She had three 55 gallon drums of scraps left over from the horses. So, when she decided to make a quilt, she had plenty to work with.

It took her 6 years to hand piece all the octagons. She would spend nights awake, remembering all her fabrics, and trying to decide what would coordinate. As she finished a flower, she would put it in a wicker basket to stay flat.

Her 88 year old mother cut all the yellow and green shapes, and did the hand binding.

She had a quilt group hand quilt it.

She brought one of the Carousel Horses she had made about 34 years ago. We posted a sign asking people to find the fabric of the horse on the quilt. People really enjoyed that.

What wonderful quilts. You have a very strong employee group. It must be such a pleasure working with so many like minded individuals. I hope I can make it to your show in March!
