I bought this fabric to day at an antique store, got 4 1/2 yds. for $8.00, Do you think it will work okay for the OBW quilt?

Thanks for looking and for your opinion.

WOW! I like that! It looks an awful lot like something like I have. Sure, it would make a great OBW!! They seem to be getting more popular on here lately... Good Luck!

I haven't made one yet (I DO have the fabric for it!) but from what I understand, it's not yardage that is important, but repeats. From the looks of your fabric, it has about an 18" repeat, and for 6 repeats, you'd need 3 yards...soooo You have enough, and then some! You'll have extra to use the original fabric in your quilt! :)

I think it will make some very interesting blocks!

You would have to be really careful as there are so many straight lines that you would end up having to match at the seams. In general One Block Wonders work best with swirly lines. Also, the print is quite small. If it were me, I'd pick another fabric, sorry. :(

That is going to be the best obw ever!
That is fabulous fabric on its own as well as a obw. drool. I've been looking for my perfect obw fabric and haven't found it yet... I almost had one - but I had washed my material before I knew about them :'( There is one piece in my stash that would be perfect and more than enough material but it was prewashed already ... it's all good. I'll find one one of these days.

I can hardly wait to see how yours comes along!
