I did these 24 blocks while watching the college football game Sat night. I did them assembly line, but thought it worked out to pretty much "10 minutes" per block. Backing is fleece. I used a bag of 4 1/2 inch fabric squares I had on hands. Think the main thing on this block is that the 5 squares be the same size. However, if you wanted the inside block to be bigger in relation to the outside block, there is no reason you could not make that square larger.

Love your quilt. Did you have any problems using 41/2 inch squares instead of the 10 inch? I like the smaller squares.

Really nice....I like the idea of using what we have on hand and making a quick quilt now and then. Funny how sometimes those are the ones that are loved the most, by our loved ones! Maybe it is because it is a collection of fabrics they have seen you use, or perhaps because we spent time with them watching football while we made it....
Whatever the case...I give you 3 thumbs up on this one!

Love the bow tie-like block in the bottom right. A whole new way to approach this block. It opens a new design. Thanks.

Very nice! I just ordered some cheap charm packs from connecting threads - this might be a good thing to use them on! What was your finished block size? My guess would be around 8", but wanted to check.
