Diane007....I have this same pattern. Each bird is build the same way, the only difference is which way it faces, left or right. It's the different material used in each bird that makes them look like different bird species. This is next on my bucket list.

Your quilt is beautiful, i love those sweet birds. I'm like you, will struggle to figure out what to quilt... Decide on something, then have a better idea when it's too late.... Or, I'll choose a safe thread color for quilting, then wish afterwards that I'd been a little bolder. Live and learn, I guess!

That is really very nice. Love your color choices. And, like you, I am always half done with something when a different idea strikes. Go with the flow and just chalk it up to a great mind always reconnecting the same dots in a different way. That's why we are creative!
