I've been trying to find time to learn how to applique. Got a 10 year old SBS kit my GM gave me and I'd like to get to it soon and a BOM I've been buying for the last 7 mos. Been really busy getting back into the swing of college and dealing with the family and hadn't gotten around to it:oops:
And then it happened:shock: .... A paid sewing gig. Two of the guys in my household in the SCA are going to Pennsic( a really, really big 2 week event in Pennsylvania) and wanted tabards with the kingdom symbol on them..... and it had to be satin stitched :( So I said, "ummm, Sure!"(after all, new hand protection and a lighter shield for my DH were in the offering) and figured I would practice before attempting the falcon they needed on there. Got them done and wasn't too unhappy with the things. The guys were very happy with them and didn't notice every wart and pimple like I did. I had to simplify the falcon a bit because they wanted me to shrink the design and the fiddely bits were just too much that small.....

Soooo, here are my boys modeling the tabards and now my snowpeople BOM doesn't seem so scary now
