I posted this fan block a while ago and now I am putting borders. I'm thinking between 4-6 inch wide, what are your opinions

It is gorgeous. I always have large borders because I love quilting feathers so I have 6-8 Inch borders.

I am a beginner quilter, but I will give my opinion anyway. I would use 4 in. Love your fan block.

When I first glanced I thought it was a deck of cards....wow...now that would be the perfect man quilt...using a deck of cards.

They'd both be fine. Depends on what "look" you want.
#2 gives more of a classic look. #1 less so.

#1 .... unless you have used it in the quilt or that it will be the backing, then I'd be less apt to use it. But that's just me! The colours match perfectly and so, you couldn't ask for a better match.

I like the red better ... I'd go with 6".
