It's a beauty, any little boy would be thrilled with it. Wish I was a quilter when my own two boys were small, all I ever made them were matching jackets and clothes. We are all looking forward to see the many other quilts you will be making now that you have your first one finished. Thank you for sharing with us and congratulations on your soon to arrive son.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I definitely had a blast and see more quilts in my future.

Yes, I came up with the pattern. I do freelance artwork in my spare time for book covers and game designs, so I have a Wacom tablet. I drew the design to scale on the computer and then broke down each section to be printed like a puzzle then reassembled the paper and traced each piece on to a light weight fusible interfacing. I didn't trust myself to freehand a giant Totoro on to fabric. lol

EDIT: This was my original design. I came up with the tree later because at the time I wasn't sure how I wanted to fill in the background.
