Exclamation First Completed Quilt

I wanted to share with all my first completed quilt. This was made for a friend as a gift for the DGD who is expected to make an appearance the end of October. Quilt was finished in pillow case style and tied at friend's request. I am quite pleased with this quilt even though it has imperfections. It was a great learning experience and has left me with the need to finally start the quilting on a top I finished months ago. The fear of that first completed quilt has been overcame! Thanks for looking and thanks to those who helped in a previous thread as to what to use for batting.

Great job! Love the teddy bear fabric. Pinwheels turned out great and love the label! Keep up the good work. I have not done a pillowcase style quilt yet. What was the most challenging part?

You have made a beautiful quilt for this baby-to-be. Welcome to the quilter's club and all its addictions! I'm particularly impressed by your label - very nicely done.

For me the fact that the pinwheels end up on the bias was a challenge. Used a lot of starch. Also a challenge trying to match the points. They are far from perfect. Tieing in the center does hide some of the mismatch.
Pillow case style was very easy. Sew all the way around leaving opening and then turn and hand stitch opening closed.
Thanks for looking and commenting.
