Smile First original quilt.

Perhaps you've seen me go on and on about the Modern Quilt Guild's 100 days of quilts. Perhaps not. But, let me just say that I have been so inspired by the modern movement that I couldn't stop myself from making my own liberated quilt.
The backing fabric was my inspiration. I dyed all the solids for the front and just sort of let the design happen as I went along. I quilted it in straight lines that remind me of plaid.
The first photo shows the backing, and the second is taken beside my porch where the tulips are confused by the 50 degree weather we've had the last week and are sprouting!

Awesome. I really like your hand dyed fabric. And the quilting is perfect and fits the design.

Contemporary isn't normally something I lean towards but I love your design! The quilting really enhances the geometric's and the color is wonderful!

Very nice quilt, love the hand dyed backing, and the colors you pulled from it for the front. Not my style but very nice you did a great job.
