Here are photos of my quilt that placed in my guild's annual quilt show. It's really become a fun show that has grown alot. There's a nice little festival and the proceeds from the show benefit the Cottonport Museum. Very win-win. Hope you enjoy!

I made this quilt during the summer while helping my dad to care for mom. Since she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, I needed some bright happy things in my life to escape. One day while sitting with mom I started doodling. I can't draw, so I was doodling lines, and the quilt somehow made itself known. I already had the beautiful batiks in crayon colors, so I played with that idea. Primary colors in the horizontal lines, secondary colors in the vertical lines. And colorful flowers to mix it up!

Oh, I love that! I have kicked around the idea of a woven look like that one, now I see it and really love it. The applique is fabulous.

Beautiful! I love the flow of the flowers and vines with the 'plaid' effect.
