Default First Quilt of the New Year.

I found this pattern in one of the Quilting Magazines and added just a touch of my own. I purchased the fabric from one of the quilting board sellers and was totally pleased with the fabric. I made the binding from pieces of the leftover fabric from the squares. I also made a large block of the smaller blocks to be the centerpiece. It was fun and took all of November and December and 1/2 of January. However I will end up with two quilts slightly different. Will post the sister to it when it is completed.

I really like this. I love your modifications using the large center block. The usage of the left over fabric for the binding is perfect. The backing fabric is wonderful. I am glad you used the diagonal for the quilting, because I think anything else would really have distracted. Can't wait to see the sister one.

Very nicely done. I have been collecting a lot of polkadot fabrics and this just may be the pattern they will be used for. Thanks for sharing and could you tell me the size of the finished blocks? Thanks!

That is a beauty! I really love it! I hope you are keeping this one - I love your binding too - that is one of my new things - making my binding out of the leftovers - it makes for a fun, scrappy binding.
