    Default quilted canvas bag

I recently took a Bluprint (craftsy) class "Wild Quilting" by Christina Cameli. A long time ago, there was a post on this board showing a quilted rug made from a painter's drop cloth. I was intrigued by the rug and always wanted to try quilting on canvas so I thought this would be a good opportunity to practice the class techniques. I used a piece of fleece for the batting and quilting cotton for the backing. I did not pre-wash the canvas but if you are planning on washing the finished item it's good idea because it does shrink. Also, you will need to serge or zigzag the edges as it frays like crazy otherwise.
    Here's the raw quilted piece.

I brought the backing to the front & bound it. Looked like an overgrown place mat so I made a place mat purse.

A+ should be your grade for that class! Great use of the canvas, great quilting designs, and great bag!

Love it! Do you remember the jacket someone made like this posted here on the board? I have always wanted one. Do you think you will expand to clothing?
