Here is my first attempt at decorating a sheet to cover our dead soldiers. I bought the twin sheets I have from Macy's (on sale). I bought 6 colors. This one is a pretty yellow/gold. The others are lt purple, med blue, lt green. I used double sided iron on sheets to do the butterfly outline. I cut out the wings from a beautiful fabric that I found at Wal Mart. Now I have to sew this pattern down.

My thoughts: One of the most time consuming tasks is ironing the sheet. Also, this pattern appears to be a bit small for the size (twin) sheet.

I plan the cover the top of the sheet with the same print pattern. Will have to do some smaller butterflies at each corner to fill in.

What do you think? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Yolanda Wood River

Oh, my, I didn't realize they used sheets. Are you affiliated with a charity that collects donations of decorated sheets?

What a considerate person you are to do this. I'm sure those are left to mourn appreciate your kindness.

Could you please share a little more about the back story on this project?

Thanks!

That is so beautiful! I remember your story about these sheets. Is there anything we could do to help you?
