What a STUNNING quilt! Maybe if your Internet friend made a different quilt pattern she would fall in LOVE with quilting(we can only hope)again! It would be really generous of you to finish the quilt and RE-GIFT it back to your friend. My DM has done this several times when her friends lose interest in their quilting.

That thought has crossed my mind but I didn't want to say anything to her. It will take such a long time to quilt it that hopefully by the time I finish it she will have forgotten about it and then I can send it to her. :-) The fabrics mean something to her, so truthfully, I think that it will be going back to her one day (or year) in the future.

That is stunning! I have never seen one done with all the plaids matched like that. She sure put a lot of time into it!

Wow, what a great surprise! Now you're honor-bound to finish it! I'm glad you're going to hand quilt it--and old-fashioned top like this calls for hand quilting!

What a special persosn to give something away that they have invested so much time.
I tend to hold on to them, but I have started going through and giving away.
I quilt for family, friends, and charity and hve no porblem giving them away.
But some I felt were not 'great' and held on to never to be used. I have let them go!!!!!
