ok, so I have a flower stitch foot and that thing came with NO directions...oh they are in the box but really....nothing I do is making flowers like what they show can be done...

If you have one of these and can make FLOWERS with it, please, please, please tell me what I am doing wrong!

In my pix are the samples I did the other night.
The fabric is layered with batting..I did NOT like just a double layer of fabric..it preferred the batting sandwich! That pink thread is a vintage varigated DMC embroidery thread that is 50wt. As you can see on the Ultrasuede, the pink sunk in and sort got lost. I had to use a heavier weight thread on the ultrasuede, but it did fine with NO stabilizer...

JUST no flowers...cute circular designs, but I want the big spirograph flowers they say you can make with this thing!

What if you use a stabilizer like when you do machine embroidery?

this is what I am thinking...I first did it on just a piece of fabric folded over and it did NOT like that...so I had that sandwich piece handy and tried it and it was amazing the difference...I told my friend who was on the phone with me the whole time, that I think it needed stabilizer. Since I do not do machine emb. I have NO clue what to use! I love how it did on the ultrasuede, but like I said...the flower still does not look like what the pix shows...

Try freezer paper if you have it because you can iron it to your fabric.

oooohhh....good idea...I have some stabilizer but it not fusible...think I will try the freezer paper..I have that on hand too!

I can buy stabilizers wholesale, just have NO clue what I would need...way too many choices out there! ANd they are so costly...

I always get a light weight and if I need heavier I just add another layer or 2. Do you have basting spray. That will work with the no iron stabilizer.

um..no basting spray..can not tolerate that stuff...will try the freezer paper..like you said, I can always BUILD layers if I have to!

You can use the stabilizer you have, by spraying it with a temp. spray and it will stick to the back of your fabric. If needed, you can use more than one layer of stabilizer.
