Default FMQ Playtime (Craftsy Class Homework)

Here's what I've been up to this morning... I started Cindy Needham's "Design It, Quilt It" class on Craftsy and here's my first homework assignment completed. It is supposed to show free-form use of lines, circles and s-curves. This piece is about 9" x 11" and done on my DSM (Juki TL 98 Q).

You did a great job. I am so afraid to try it. I do everything so tight and always have.

I started a little over 3 years ago. Since I work full-time, I don't spend as much time at FMQ as I'd like, but it sure is fun! I started with a little experimentation, then one 3 hour class at a LQS, use of lots of resources on-line info and videos, books and DVDs including work by Leah Day, Karen McTavish, Sharon Schamber and now Cindy Needham. I've practiced too many hours to count and am still learning tons! My practice pieces the first several months were BAAAAAAAAD, but I was determined to learn and didn't give up. It's my experience that you have to be really committed to learning and practicing if you want to get good at FMQ. It's the most difficult thing I've learned in a long time!
