I have consulted my copy of the book The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns compiled by Jinny Beyer.

The first quilt is a Sailor's Joy Patch.

The third quilt is called a Philadelphia Patch.

I'm still workin' on the second quilt ;-))

Lovely find. The same thing happened to me. My husbands aunt gave us an antique trunk unopened and it was full of lovely old quilts that his great aunts had made. Mostly scrappy but beautiful.

What wonderful quilts. Lucky your BIL found a good home for them with you, and hope he is happy in his new place.
