A forty year old trunk revels some treasures

My BIL is moving to assisted living at age 86. He is going through his things. These quilts were in a trunk that he has not opened in over 40 years. He gave them to me to see if they coud be saved. These have only minor issues-need to be cleaned. Thought I would share and request your help In block id. Thanks !! Name: image.jpg

They are beautiful, and look like they have been barely used if at all. What a real treasure chest!

Wow! These are the real works of art...cut with newspaper patterns and scissors and probably all hand pieced and quilted. These are treasures!

Great quilts! The only one I think might be able to name is the third one and maybe Pine Burr?

What a treasure to come to you. Do you know who might have made them? Your Mom, possibly??

He said His Mother made them. She was born 1888 died 1968. Walker County Al. He packed the trunk when she died. When he was growing up, quilts were made for use. They didn't buy "Store bought". These they thought were not good enough to use. They do have small issues. I wouldn't "use" them but will display them.
