You are doing a beautiful job on it. And it's going so fast too. I can't wait until they ship mine! They were out when I ordered, so I have to wait. Love the job you're doing!

I made my template, I am cheap and don't want to spend the money! LOL I just cut a chunk of plastic cutting mat. I find that floor tiles make great templates. The practice blocks I used a square picture frame.

It looks great so far. Can you share the measurements of you blocks, strips and what the sashing came out as?

Yours looks so good for the sashing and I really don't care for many sashing patterns...

Thanks! Keep us posted.

The backing block in 10 1/2 inches, the inside batting block is 8 inches so that leaves the frame size 1 1/4 all the way around. When you sew it together you get a sashing of 1 1/4 inches. You could make it wider by making your frame template wider. I cut my strips to 2 inches so it gives me a 1 1/2 inch strip when done. I did not follow a pattern just the method. By making it 7 blocks wide and 8 long I should end up with a twin size quilt about 52 12 x60 or 8 rows would be 52 1/2 x67 1/2.
Clear as mud?

i agree with up north all the way!!

AND think out of the box (so to speak): if you make your own template, it doesn't have to be square. it can be a rectangle. or a brick.
