Default Checkerboard Flowers BOM

I finally finished the top for this Checkerboard Flowers BOM that I've been working on for two years. There are a lot of hours invested in this.

Don't know why my pictures are posting weirdly, but this is my third try, so I'm going with it.

The applique pieces are pinked, and then top-stitched. The idea is that when the quilt is washed, the edges will fray giving them a three dimensional appearance, like in a rag quilt. Mainly, I used a straight stitch for the top-stitching, but for some, I used the fancy stitches on my sewing machine to give them a little texture.

This is beautiful, a labor of love! the stitching on it looks beautiful and adds to the beauty of the quilt.
Enjoy having it finished.

Such a lovely quilt, and I'm intrigued by the idea of fraying the edges of the applique in the laundry. PLEASE post another picture after you've washed the quilt and let us see how that works out. It sounds like it will make the flowers even more lovely.
