Default Gift for retiring preschool teacher

One of our preschool teachers just retired. The director asked if I would make her a quilt. I ironed white fabric to freezer paper and cut it in 6-1/2" squares and had the children (and a couple assistants) draw a picture of themselves to remember them by. Remember, these children are 3 & 4, so the 'self portraits' are unusual (and cute). Had only a week to make this after I got the squares back so I just added sashing and cornerstones and used Charismah's two color binding that needs no hand sewing to finish it. It was fun to do and the retiring teacher loved it.

That's a one of a kind gift for sure. I'm sure she'll cherish that for years to come. Bless your heart for making it for her on short notice.

What a wonderful idea. Kind of a short time line but I bet she will love it.
