Hello All!
This design wall is designed to be multiple sizes. The full size is 6' x 6' built in 2 ft sections, so it can be set up with any where from 1 to 9 sections. We did some testing to determine if it worked better to have 2 or 3 legs and to put them on the top or in the middle. We decided that it is actually more stable with the legs in the middle and 2 legs is plenty. The legs have 2 sections joined with a coupling. It's very portable. The fabric is clamped on with snap clamps. You can see them at snapclamps.com, but it's not the best place to purchase them unless you purchase large quantities. If you want some tips, just let me know. I purchased flannel from Walmart. They actually have a fairly heavy flannel and it works perfectly. I didn't have any quilt blocks with me to put on it, so I'll post a photo with them on it later. Anyway...I'm looking for feedback, thoughts, etc. on my design. Whatcha think???

I have been wanting to buy one but they want 129 dollars for one online. What did it cost you to make it.?
How many snap clamps did you use?
How many yards of flannel did you need?
What size are the pipes Im guessing 1 inch.

Thanks so much for sharing your idea. It is great. Now just a bag for the pipes to take it with you to class.
I might use this for a portable one. And it is very flexible on what size you want to make it I guess you could just put different number of sections together.
Much less expensive than the store purchased ones. I just did a mounted on for my Mom with $5 worth of felt, slat from Home Depot about $5 and a bag of hooks about $3. I just sewed a sleeve in one end of the felt and put the hooks in the wall. Took me about 3 hours including the shopping and driving.

Hubby helped me design it and we specifically made it with multiple sections so we could have multiple sizes. I figured 2 - 3 snap clamps per section, but I actually purchased 30 because I wanted extra and I didn't want to pay shipping again to reorder. The best price I found online was at littlegreenhouse.com. The clamps are 4" but you can also buy 4 foot pieces.
The pipe is 1/2 inch. We debated about using 3/4 inch but the 1/2 pipe is sturdy enough with it cut in smaller pieces. There's 4 1/2 yards of flannel at 2.97/yd - Walmart. My costs including acetone (Walmart) to clean the pipe and colored plastic tape (Walmart) to mark the sections was $71.00. I still need to find a bag - looking at military surplus duffle bags for that. I could make something, but I just don't want to. :-)
