Default Good News quilt block

I made this for and delivered this to my neighbor who's been having some rough times. The block pattern is called "Good News." It's supposed to be a "make two at once" quilt, but I burned out on the blocks half way through.

You have a 4.5 by 6.5 inch dark piece attached to a 2.5 by 6.5 light piece (this is approximate -- I actually don't remember exactly what size I cut, but that seems right). Then you cut on the diagonal. You put all the darks together in one quilt and all the lights in another. The secondary pattern of the blocks gives the pinwheels in the corners.

Somehow my math sense failed me, because it seemed like I had a million of those blocks, which really need to be put in fours to make a decent-sized block. Actually, I only had a half a million blocks, because some were meant for the other quilt, lol.

I finally decided to make two quadrants of dark and two of light, using all the blocks I had and not having to make any more. Worked for me!

I love the balance of the quilt, lots of skills evident. Have you decided how you will be quilting it?
