My 11 year old grandson wanted a black & white quilt - since these are not my colors, I agreed if I could add some red to make it happy. Since I didn't want to spend a lot of time working with these lovely colors, I made up this block which went together quickly and found more of the sashing fabric on line to put it on the back.

This was definitely a labor of love, but then, he'll love it!

Nice job there. I find black and white very challenging to work with - getting the shading and such right is difficult. You pulled it off with perfection! Way to go...He'll love it!!

Really great job on this! Look on the bright side...it won't show the dirt as much as something brighter. With boys, that's a good thing!

I agree with Esqmommy about your fabric choices. You achieved a pleasing balance of pattern texture and contrast, which is so obvious in mostly black/white quilts. I'm sure Stephen will be very proud of his quilt.

You did a GREAT job , especially for wotking with colors that are not your favorite ! What block is that ? I am always looking for quick and easy :wink:
