Hi everyone. This is my first post to the forum. I just discovered this cool message board.

Anyways...My mom gave me this treasure. It is a quilt top that my great grandmother made in the 1930s. All the pieces are hand stitched. I'm thinking I will hand quilt it.

I'm excited about it. My mom and my grandmother were quilters too. I'm very proud to carry on the tradition and wish I had met my great grandmother before she passed away so long ago. I feel that I know her a little bit when I look at this quilt top.

How special! I have some quilt blocks that my great-grandmother made. It feels so good to have that connection. Enjoy

O me goodness, now this is truly the treasure of a life, beside our wee babes. Makes you want to just sit and stare at it. Goodness. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings, Ruth

By the way, do you have any notion what the name of the pattern might be? Lucky you.

I was given a quilt top that has very similar colors. I wonder if it is from that era. I don't know what to do with it. It was hand pieced and I don't hand quilt. I hate to put it on a machine to quilt when someone spent so much time hand-piecing it. I think you will do it justice to hand-quilt it.

It reminds me of the seven sisters block pattern.
The quilt is really pretty.
