Definitely hubby. If I try and put too many colours together, I just get a mishmash. He plans as he goes along, and just uses whatever colours he feels like.

Well SandyinZ4, I think you would get on well with GOM, he loves your Avatar! By the way, I'm supposed to tell everyone that he has a name besides GOM, and it is John.

There is really no such thing as a right or a wrong way to make a quilt is there - thats what is so much fun about it, we can all do whatever we like with whatever colours we like. GOM says thank you very much for your comments.

I would get it quilted, but use a polyester batting so that it doesn't get much heavier, just warmer.

The multiple geometric planes appeal to me. This has taken a lot of planning and time and use of color to achieve the splendor presented here. Time to be supportive, or get out of the way, depending on his reaction to stimuli. Definitely have him finish it. If he needs a quilter, provide him with some names. Maybe it's guy thing? He wants another man to quilt it?

This is one nice quilt for a GOM. Those pink and green baskets look like stylised water melon slices to me. Lovely colours.
