I love that block. You said it's handpieced. Is it also paper pieced? It looks pretty complicated. I like the way the star in the center gives that block a faceted look like a diamond. Very nicely done.

Bj, it is totally hand pieced using templates and marking sewing lines, etc. The pattern was drafted with hand piecing in mind and as far as I know, there isn't a paper pieced pattern for it. It would be very complicated to do by machine and I'm sure my points would not have turned out sharp.

Thanks for the compliments to all who have looked and posted.

 Helen, It's beautiful! You did a wonderful job, I'd frame just that block. I'm going to do that with 2 blocks that are old, my sisters & I found them while cleaning at my Mom's; who passed away in June. I know a man that makes very nice wooden frames ( glass included) very good prices, I'll just stain or paint them to match the rm I'll hang them in. Good Luck  Becky

I din't make up the pattern. The designer is Candy Goff. Here is a link to her website:

Cathy, thanks for sharing a great idea. I think I'm going to just let it sit for awhile as I have a lot more of the batik fabric and may do something around it. I'm just not sure what at the moment but when I get a light bulb moment, I'll know what to do with it.

Thanks for the compliments! Helen
