Default Racing Quilt

This is a racing quilt my wife and I made for her dad's birthday. He used to race cars so we made this quilt to represent a checkered flag with embroidered race cars of various kinds. My wife cut the quilt blocks, I made the embroidery patterns and embroidered them out, she pieced the blocks all together, I quilted it alternating thread colors to match the black and white blocks, then my wife bound it. We used the number he had on his car, plus I embroidered a roadrunner on the car like he had on his. We did the same with his son's race car with Yosemitee Sam. Also the quilt has squares of cars representing AJ Foyt, and Marty Robbins' cars, both of whom he raced with.

That quilt is just amazing! You two are quite the team. My husband would love the quilt as he was a flag man for several years and still watches NASCAR every week. Your dad will love this quilt and will have special meaning to him.

What a fun quilt. I like the colors and the checkered flag idea. My brother is a big race fan, also.

This quilt looks great, the simple black & white makes the embroidered cars pop.
You & your wife made a real treasure together. Bet her dad will love it.
